MEMIN research student Nicole Güldemeister received an award for best poster at the Annual Meeting of the German Geophysical Society.
The poster, titled "The effect of porosity on crater formation and shock wave propagation in laboratory experiments - insights from numerical modeling", uses numerical modeling to show how pore space in target rocks effectively dampens the shockwave during impacts.
